I recently visited Briars Dental Practice in Newbury and had a truly excellent experience. From the moment I walked in, the receptionist greeted me warmly and made me feel welcome. The hygienist who saw me prior to my appointment with the dentist was very thorough and gave me some great advice on how to keep my teeth healthy.I was then seen by Richard, one of the dentists at the practice, and I have to say that he and his nurse were fantastic. They put me at ease throughout the whole procedure, were extremely professional and caring, and made sure that I was comfortable at all times. I was also impressed by their attention to detail and their willingness to take the time to answer all of my questions.In fact, I was so pleased with my experience that I would also like to mention another dentist named Richard who saw me previously. He too was excellent, very thorough and professional, and I felt very well taken care of during my appointments with him.Overall, I can't recommend Briars Dental Practice highly enough. The staff are all so friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, and they really go above and beyond to make sure that their patients are well looked after. If you're looking for a great dental practice in Newbury, look no further than Briars.

Thank you for a wonderful experience, I am a coward when it comes to the dentist, Mr Nick French, put me at ease, and has the patience of a Saint. I would also say the dental nurse was I lovely lady who let me crush her hand while I was having my injections. I give Briars Dental Centre 10 out of 10, and would not hesitate to recommend them.

I had a hygienist appointment with Jo and her nurse, Suzanne. It was the first time I’d tried GBT and found the experience much more comfortable than usual. Jo and Suzanne really put me at ease and made sure I was happy throughout the treatment. It was good being able to clearly see the areas which I needed to improve on brushing and Jo gave me great tips. Would highly recommend

After such a positive experience today with Richard I thought it only fair to delete my previous review. I am a very nervous patient and not ashamed to say I cried before my appointment. Richard and his lovely dental nurse were so understanding and treated me with kindness and empathy. Richard explained everything to me and allowed me to go at my pace. All options for my next appointment were explained to me and I now have trust in Richard that I feel I will not need full sedation. I was in alot of pain prior to my appointment today along with an enormous amount of anxiety. Richard even explained to me how to breathe when having treatment- no other dentist has ever explained that to me before!Thank you again Richard and to your lovely dental nurse.

Had an appointment with Chelsea today and it went very very well. Had my scans and photos done for Invisalign, which can be a bit awkward but she made it a comfortable experience. She was very friendly, welcoming, put me at ease and asked if I had any overall questions at that stage of the process. She was knowledgeable and explained everything I asked about. A very happy customer! I had quite a lot of crooked and misaligned teeth so Victoria introduced me to Invisalign. She carefully created a program to give me the smile I wanted. In the end it took longer than we had expected but Victoria very diligently took me through every step of the process and she didn’t compromise on any part of the process to ensure I got the smile and teeth alignment we both wanted. My visit to Richard last week went well. He identified that x rays hadn’t been taken for 3 years, and showed me the images, interpreting the results carefully and explaining the steps that may be required as treatment. I am disappointed that I will need to have another consultation to confirm if a root canal is needed. Warning: if you do need a consultation with the endodontist, you will need to pay in advance. I couldn’t do that on the day, but I will be booking in to have this followed up as soon as I can. I will need my own teeth for many more years!

Over the years I`ve found that the Briars delivers consistently high quality dental care and yesterday was no exception. I recieved first class root canal treatment by Dr. Richard Condon and team. I can 100% recommend this dental practice as I have been with Briars Dental Centre for a few years now. From the reception staff to the Hygenist and Dentist I have had my confidence boosted in the biggest way. The reception girls are always very professional, helpful, friendly and always make time for a little chat. If it hadn’t been for one of the girls on the reception team I would not have known about the payment plan, which is proving to be well worth it, and gives me free Hygenist and Check-ups and a reduction of 10% on other treatments. Thank you girls for that. You are all fantastic and lovely. Keep doing what you’re doing.My previous Hygenist. Aimee, was absolutely the best and I had no fear going to her. Now I have a new girl, Meryl, and she is also blooming brilliant. Thank you.My dentist, Nicola Murdoch, deserves the most praise having built up my confidence in dentists again. I have just finished my Invisalign treatment with Dr Victoria Holden, I never imagined my teeth would look this good, they are beautiful and straight and I have a glorious smile. The aligners are stress free, comfortable, easy to wear and the scanning was simple. Victoria and Jen have been amazing from start to finish responded to any questions I had. I cannot thank them enough. I would recommend this treatment to any one of any age, it’s the best money I’ve ever spent.

I had a lot of discomfort from two adjacent back teeth, the slightest touch of cold drink and it got really painful. The Briars team quickly diagnosed the problem and explained the x-ray images that showed a previous different practice’s root canal had caused decay of the tooth and the adjacent one along with the surrounding bone. I was left with a few choices that were clearly explained to me, but removal of the two teeth was the option I took with an implant replacement for one of them. I was referred to Nick French, who is their implant specialist. I had a process that encouraged the bone to regrow and then the implant. Nick’s demeanour is so calming and his explanations very clear, I had no distress or discomfort at all. I recognised the techniques he uses from the manufacturing industry, they are so advanced that the replacement tooth feels exactly like the one it replaced and now my mouth feels calm for the first time in quite a while. I totally recommend The Briars Dental Centre and Nick French.

The Briars Dental Surgery provides an exceptionally friendly and professional service that I would recommend to everyone. I grew up with a fear of dentists born out of difficult childhood experiences. However, I now look forward to my visits with my hygienist Jo Craig and her assistant Kasia. My Associate Dentist Nicola Murdoch provides annual check ups to ensure my overall teeth health remains in great shape. Sharmila has also taken great care of my gums with her specialist expertise. Great service for a root canal treatment. Dr Richard Condon was very professional, explained everything clearly before doing and after the procedure which lasted for 2 hours. Removed a crown, treated the root canals and replaced with temporary crown. No pain during the procedure at all, just a little that day when the numbness faded. Next day almost back to normal. Great job thank you.

Having moved to the area 2 years ago, I was really hesitant to change dentist but I wish I did it sooner! Richard and team are truly incredible, they make me feel a part of the process and I always come out smiling.Many past experiences throughout my childhood meant the going to the dentist was often anxiety provoking, often ending up in anxiety attacks. I was recently booked in for an appointment with Amy to discuss Invisalign treatment. On arrival, reception staff were lovely and directed me to really nice and homely waiting room! Amy was so great, she made the appointment relaxed and friendly and took me through how Invisalign works and made sure I understood everything. At the end of the appointment she wasn’t pushy with me to get started and pay for treatment. She even emailed me a finance calculator so I could go away and think about what I wanted to do and how I would pay for it. Really lovely place and staff, highly recommend 😊

Always a 5 Star service from The Briars in all areas of expertise from dentistry and hygienists. A testament to this is how long we have stayed loyal to the practice as patients. My mother’s been coming for 70 years and as her daughter I’ve been a patient for 40 years. In that time I’ve only had 4 dentists which shows the longevity of the employees. I have been attending The Briars Dental Centre for a couple of years and cannot praise their expertise enough. Yesterday Dr. Lilleker prepared a back tooth for a crown. Although the treatment was lengthy, at no time did I feel hurried and had complete confidence in his professionalism, ability and care. Furthermore, the premises are laid out very well. Parking in my experience, has never been a problem, first class cleaners internally cannot be faulted, the reception staff always seem pleased to see patients and listen to them and the external grounds are always tidy. What more could anyone want?

Changed dentists due to relocating to a new area and chose Briars not only from the online reviews but also the appearance of the clinic. From first view to going inside I was taken back by how professional it all looked and felt and the friendliness of the staff was warm and welcoming. I was in for my first consultation before any treatment was undertaken and a big thanks and special mention to Chelsea (Consultation Technician) for not only having a friendly and upbeat manner but explaining everything in such detail and with a calmness that I was instantly at ease and knew I had chosen the right place. For anyone who may be anxious about going to the dentist I can't recommend Briars highly enough.

I've used the Briars for years for myself and my three boys and always found everyone to be kind, patient and extremely knowledgeable.My middle son, Arthur, who's now 13, has always really disliked his teeth as they are quite small with gaps. Over time our dentist, Afif, made a plan with him to add some composite bonding to his front four teeth. This meant Arthur had minimal intervention and preserved the integrity of his teeth, which was super important to me as he's still only young and growing, but gave Arthur the changes he needed to give him more confidence in his smile.We're completely overjoyed with the result, it's made the world of difference to how Arthur feels about himself and he's really pleased he had it done.The composite bonding was really reasonably priced and gives us the options of doing more as he grows and becomes an adult if we wish.Afif has been great throughout, talking both me and Arthur through his plan so we're both reassured about the process.I also wanted to mention how great Meryl is, she is the hygienist me and my three boys all use. My youngest son is quite nervous about the dentist and finds it tricky but she is so kind and caring with him and taken the time to build up trust over a number of appointments that now he feels a lot easier with her.I'd not hesitate to recommend the Briars to anyone.

I had such a wonderful experience during my recent hygiene appointment with Amiee Mosher and Kasia Pike. From the moment I arrived, I felt so well looked after. My children love visiting the centre to see Dr Hanif. His care and passion is exceptional. Not only does he provide an educational and positive experience, but he builds a comfortable and relaxing environment. It's been a long time since I've been to the dentist but I visited Briars today for an emergency appointment and I couldn't have asked for better care. I've quite literally walked out of other dentists because the welcome was so cold and scary I just couldn't imagine going there for treatment but from my initial enquiry to my treatment everyone was really friendly and made me feel a little more at ease.My dentist was Richard and he explained everything clearly, and didn't make me feel any worse than I already did about my oral health. He was no nonsense but also empathetic and I really appreciated the care given.This was just the beginning of a long road ahead in terms of dental care but I definitely feel like I'll be in safe hands when returning to The Briars.Would highly recommend to anyone look for a new dentist. I know cost can also be a huge factor in choosing a dentist and I also felt like that was explained clearly and with understanding.

Not my dentist but I was sent here for a CT scan which my own dentist could not do. My first impressions were a friendly and efficient reception team who were expecting me. I had hardly sat down in the lovely cosey waiting room when I was called by Amy for my scan. Super friendly and efficient! Back in the waitingroom while I waited for my results I was chatting to another paient who had been with them for years. He could not praise the team enough. I know if I have any need to switch dentist Briars will be my first port of call! Thankyou to all the team and keep up the good work :0)

I highly recommend Briars practice. I was recently seen by the lovely Meryl and her nurse Agatha. Meryl was gentle and very thorough, and made me feel comfortable. Agatha made sure that I was comfortable throughout the treatment. When I had a follow up question during my second appointment, Meryl promptly got back to me and provided all the necessary advice. The receptionists are always so attentive and helpful. Dr Richard is our family dentist and he is also very patient, extremely knowledgeable and professional. I couldn't recommend them more.

Excellent practice. Super thorough and professional. We migrated to The Briars to deal with a filling in my then-6-year-old's tooth which our previous practice wanted to refer to an NHS hospital. Nicholas French was able to do it with no pain, no fuss and not anaesthetic needle! Remarkable skill. I've been prompted to leave a review after a few years here as my tween/teen girls had such a positive experience with Richard Lilleker yesterday: He was so good with them. Gave them some robust feedback on brushing (!) and was thoroughly jolly and upbeat. They bounced out of the surgery. Thank you all at The Briars.

I phoned as an emergency as I had chipped my front tooth whilst ironically eating a tortilla chip.I had the most wonderful dentist. I had to have an injection which is never pleasant but the rest of the visit was. I really didn’t feel a thing and her new techniques were so modern that I really didn’t have an ounce of discomfort. When she had finished my front tooth looked better than before I chipped it.I usually hate going to the dentist but I immediately asked if I could switch to her as my dentist and have booked a check up for two week’s time. I could not think of a better way to spend a large amount of money. 🤣

I have been going to The Briars ever since I’ve had teeth! They have always looked after me well. As a youngster I had some orthodontic work done, and they arranged for me to have my wisdom teeth out too.Recently I have been seeing Afif Hanif, and he is excellent! I still have a milk (baby) tooth at almost 58! But it had become significantly discoloured and cracked, so he has just covered it with a simple veneer and it looks amazing! Thank you so much! Not only is Afif friendly, and kind, but he came up with an inexpensive, supportive and aesthetically pleasing solution for my poor old baby tooth! Great work! Thank you very much. xRuth DuffyPS.
