I grew up in Northumberland and obtained my dental degree from Sheffield Dental School in 1999.

On-going education has been a big focus throughout my career, and I have studied further to obtain additional knowledge and diplomas in restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, dental implantology and non-surgical aesthetic treatments. I also have an LLM Master’s degree in Medical Law and work as a dental advisor for an indemnity organisation. Lately, I have completed a post-graduate diploma in Clear Aligner Therapy.

I joined The Briars in 2007 and love many aspects of dentistry. As such, I have never sought to focus on one particular field or niche as I would miss the variety dentistry allows. I particularly enjoy working with the team of skilled clinicians and specialists that we have at The Briars.

I provide treatments that include cosmetic and restorative dentistry, mainly involving Invisalign® and digital smile design and non-surgical facial aesthetics.

I live in Kintbury with my husband Paul and our two boys. Outside work, I enjoy cooking, running with my two dogs and reading.

I recently visited Briars Dental Practice in Newbury and had a truly excellent experience. From the moment I walked in, the receptionist greeted me warmly and made me feel welcome. I had a hygienist appointment with Jo and her nurse, Suzanne. It was the first time I’d tried GBT and found the experience much more comfortable than usual. Jo and Suzanne really put me at ease and made sure I was happy throughout the treatment. After such a positive experience today with Richard I thought it only fair to delete my previous review. I am a very nervous patient and not ashamed to say I cried before my appointment. Richard and his lovely dental nurse were so understanding and treated me with kindness and empathy. Richard explained everything to me and allowed me to go at my pace. All options for my next appointment were explained to me and I now have trust in Richard that I feel I will not need full sedation. I was in alot of pain prior to my appointment today along with an enormous amount of anxiety. A very happy customer! I had quite a lot of crooked and misaligned teeth so Victoria introduced me to Invisalign. She carefully created a program to give me the smile I wanted. In the end it took longer than we had expected but Victoria very diligently took me through every step of the process and she didn’t compromise on any part of the process to ensure I got the smile and teeth alignment we both wanted. My visit to Richard last week went well. He identified that x rays hadn’t been taken for 3 years, and showed me the images, interpreting the results carefully and explaining the steps that may be required as treatment. I am disappointed that I will need to have another consultation to confirm if a root canal is needed. Warning: if you do need a consultation with the endodontist, you will need to pay in advance. I couldn’t do that on the day, but I will be booking in to have this followed up as soon as I can. I will need my own teeth for many more years!

I can 100% recommend this dental practice as I have been with Briars Dental Centre for a few years now. From the reception staff to the Hygenist and Dentist I have had my confidence boosted in the biggest way. I had a lot of discomfort from two adjacent back teeth, the slightest touch of cold drink and it got really painful. The Briars team quickly diagnosed the problem and explained the x-ray images that showed a previous different practice’s root canal had caused decay of the tooth and the adjacent one along with the surrounding bone. I was left with a few choices that were clearly explained to me, but removal of the two teeth was the option I took with an implant replacement for one of them. I was referred to Nick French, who is their implant specialist. I had a process that encouraged the bone to regrow and then the implant. Nick’s demeanour is so calming and his explanations very clear, I had no distress or discomfort at all. I recognised the techniques he uses from the manufacturing industry, they are so advanced that the replacement tooth feels exactly like the one it replaced and now my mouth feels calm for the first time in quite a while. I totally recommend The Briars Dental Centre and Nick French.

Great service for a root canal treatment. Dr Richard Condon was very professional, explained everything clearly before doing and after the procedure which lasted for 2 hours. Removed a crown, treated the root canals and replaced with temporary crown. No pain during the procedure at all, just a little that day when the numbness faded. Next day almost back to normal. I was recently booked in for an appointment with Amy to discuss Invisalign treatment. On arrival, reception staff were lovely and directed me to really nice and homely waiting room! Amy was so great, she made the appointment relaxed and friendly and took me through how Invisalign works and made sure I understood everything. At the end of the appointment she wasn’t pushy with me to get started and pay for treatment. I have been attending The Briars Dental Centre for a couple of years and cannot praise their expertise enough. Yesterday Dr. Lilleker prepared a back tooth for a crown. Although the treatment was lengthy, at no time did I feel hurried and had complete confidence in his professionalism, ability and care. Furthermore, the premises are laid out very well. From first view to going inside I was taken back by how professional it all looked and felt and the friendliness of the staff was warm and welcoming. I've used the Briars for years for myself and my three boys and always found everyone to be kind, patient and extremely knowledgeable.My middle son, Arthur, who's now 13, has always really disliked his teeth as they are quite small with gaps. Over time our dentist, Afif, made a plan with him to add some composite bonding to his front four teeth. This meant Arthur had minimal intervention and preserved the integrity of his teeth, which was super important to me as he's still only young and growing, but gave Arthur the changes he needed to give him more confidence in his smile.We're completely overjoyed with the result, it's made the world of difference to how Arthur feels about himself and he's really pleased he had it done.The composite bonding was really reasonably priced and gives us the options of doing more as he grows and becomes an adult if we wish.Afif has been great throughout, talking both me and Arthur through his plan so we're both reassured about the process.I also wanted to mention how great Meryl is, she is the hygienist me and my three boys all use. My youngest son is quite nervous about the dentist and finds it tricky but she is so kind and caring with him and taken the time to build up trust over a number of appointments that now he feels a lot easier with her.I'd not hesitate to recommend the Briars to anyone.

It's been a long time since I've been to the dentist but I visited Briars today for an emergency appointment and I couldn't have asked for better care. Not my dentist but I was sent here for a CT scan which my own dentist could not do. My first impressions were a friendly and efficient reception team who were expecting me. I had hardly sat down in the lovely cosey waiting room when I was called by Amy for my scan. Super friendly and efficient! I highly recommend Briars practice. I was recently seen by the lovely Meryl and her nurse Agatha. Meryl was gentle and very thorough, and made me feel comfortable. Excellent practice. Super thorough and professional. We migrated to The Briars to deal with a filling in my then-6-year-old's tooth which our previous practice wanted to refer to an NHS hospital. Nicholas French was able to do it with no pain, no fuss and not anaesthetic needle! Remarkable skill. I've been prompted to leave a review after a few years here as my tween/teen girls had such a positive experience with Richard Lilleker yesterday: He was so good with them. Gave them some robust feedback on brushing (!) and was thoroughly jolly and upbeat. They bounced out of the surgery. Thank you all at The Briars.

I phoned as an emergency as I had chipped my front tooth whilst ironically eating a tortilla chip.I had the most wonderful dentist. I had to have an injection which is never pleasant but the rest of the visit was. I really didn’t feel a thing and her new techniques were so modern that I really didn’t have an ounce of discomfort. When she had finished my front tooth looked better than before I chipped it.I usually hate going to the dentist but I immediately asked if I could switch to her as my dentist and have booked a check up for two week’s time. I could not think of a better way to spend a large amount of money. 🤣

I have been going to The Briars ever since I’ve had teeth! They have always looked after me well. As a youngster I had some orthodontic work done, and they arranged for me to have my wisdom teeth out too.Recently I have been seeing Afif Hanif, and he is excellent! I still have a milk (baby) tooth at almost 58! But it had become significantly discoloured and cracked, so he has just covered it with a simple veneer and it looks amazing! Thank you so much! Not only is Afif friendly, and kind, but he came up with an inexpensive, supportive and aesthetically pleasing solution for my poor old baby tooth! Great work! Thank you very much. xRuth DuffyPS. I am a new patient at The Briars and have been very impressed with the thorough and comprehensive introduction that I have received, firstly with Amy to look at my dental history and then with Nicola Murdoch, my new dentist. Nicola has spent time reviewing my records and has advised me about treatment going forward with great care and attention to detail. Before my first treatment Nicola explained what she was going to do before proceeding and the process was comfortable and relaxed. I have also been most impressed by the range of scanning and diagnostic technology used at The Briars and feel that my future dental health is in good hands.

Choosing a dentist is overwhelming but I’m glad I found The Briars. When I walk in for any appointment, the front desk team make me feel welcome. They’re friendly and warm and it’s impressive how the receptionist remembers and asks about small things I mentioned at previous visits - it’s these thoughtful details that help make the whole experience better.The dentists themselves never make me feel rushed and I always leave feeling like I’ve been given clear guidance and honest advice with no pressure. Even when I’ve had to see someone different for an emergency appointment, I feel reassured knowing the whole team is experienced and professional.While it can get a bit pricey, I truly believe it’s worth the investment and I highly recommend the practice.

I don’t normally write reviews,nor do I like going to the dentist, however this has changed after going to the Briars.The receptionists, Naeema and Ila, greeted me from the first appointment with a friendly smile and a cheerful greeting. The correspondence I have had with them has been timely,well written and clear to understand.They are a great front of house team for the Briars.Chelsea, Shamila and Afif have , in their own areas of expertise , addressed my dental needs in an open, honest and professional manner. Not only do I feel in safe and capable hands but I look forward to forthcoming visits.

It can be a bit of a minefield when considering choosing the best option for dental work. Since the first time I spoke to the team at Briars, they have been superb. Amy was very supportive and informative of the options available, and Victoria and the team have delivered exactly what they said they would. I am over halfway through the process of having straighter, whiter teeth and have absolutely made the right choice with choosing Briars. Don’t be tempted by significantly cheaper alternatives! Highly recommend.

Nikki has been absolutely brilliant from start to finish in dealing with my dental situation and with the treatment I have needed to reconcile it. She has replaced the chip on the front of my tooth, which has been causing me huge anxiety for numerous years now, and the work she has done is beyond fantastic. You would never know that new composite was not my real tooth, and her talent, ability and work is truly marvellous. Nikki herself has also been calm, kind, and utterly professional in all that she has done for me and I am hugely grateful for her support. I feel extremely lucky to have her looking after me and I could not recommend her more highly. THANK you.

As a very nervous patient I've put off the dentist for a long time. I choose Briars because of their facilities and the service has been incredible. No judgement for your fear, the team are so kind and supportive, and work with you to resolve issues and help with anxiety, even when you get overwhelmed.I honestly can not recommend them enough, from reception onwards the staff are fantastic, and with such incredible facilities, its great being able to have all work done in one place.
